Since 2008 Archaeodomani carries out, during the summer, regular archaeological excavation campaigns in the site of “Domo” (Castellare, Bibbiena, Arezzo) with the direction of the Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany and the collaboration of the Municipality of Bibbiena. The site was discovered in the 80s by volunteers of the local Archaeological Group and the excavations lasted for three summer campaigns (1987-89). These campaigns led to the discovery of a Roman thermal complex but, aiming solely at bringing the structures back, unfortunately precious stratigraphic information has been lost. The Archaeological Research Campaigns carried out by Archeodomani (thanks to the availability and interest shown by Dr. Luca Fedeli and Ursula Wierer) led to stratigraphically document what was investigated in the ’80s and later on to expand the excavation area considerably. The scientific direction of the Archaeological Research Campaign is entrusted to dr. Alfredo Guarino.
